15 June 2011
From the egg-on-my-face department, I offer an apology to Sharon Rutberg, whose name I misspelled in the Monday Blast.
Usually the Wednesday message is pretty brief, but there’s a lot of last minute, end of school year stuff coming through my inbox, and I wanted to get a head start. So if you’ve got something you need to tell people, you’re in very good company. Just send it along.
Comments, questions, etc? Just ask…

Caffeine Emergency Averted
The plans for the Center House remodel have been tweaked, and the project will be done in stages. They are still on line to start work this summer, and finish in time for the 50th anniversary of the World’s Fair next spring, but not all food vendors will be closed at the same time, and Starbucks will remain open throughout the project. Because construction workers drink coffee too.

Do you have an idea for a BLAST article?
We want to know what you know, and we want to know what you need. Send us your specific content, or your ideas for content. If you have Blast content to get out this week - please submit it by Friday at 3 pm.
Things we like to know:
School News, in and out of the building
Opportunities for Center School students (volunteering, classes, performances, etc)
Student, staff and faculty accomplishments beyond the school.
And the ever-favorite "other stuff."
By now you’ve seen the motley collection of stuff that qualifies for the Blast -- if you’ve got something that fits that very elastic category, send it in. Make sure you tell me what’s going on, where and when it’s happening, and how to get in touch with the people involved, if participation is the goal. And let me know how long you think it should run.
To submit news, events, or calendar items to be included in the Blast, send an email with subject line "News" to
