from Candy Castellanos, CleanScapes Your Students Can Make a Difference! Do you have juniors or seniors working on a great waste reduction idea or project? Let them know that they can create a slide show or video presentation and share their story for a chance to win a college scholarship, the title of “2010/2011 CleanScapes Waste Reduction Student of the Year” and consideration for a summer internship at CleanScapes. All Seattle public school juniors and seniors are eligible to apply. This program is part of CleanScapes Neighborhood Waste Reduction Rewards challenge. Last year’s Waste Reduction Student of the Year was Lauren Honican, a senior at Garfield High School. Her winning presentation was shared with middle school students throughout Seattle. Guidelines and application instructions are attached and available online: http://www.cleanscapes.com/files/NRR_SEA_StudentYear_ScholarshipGuidelines-_final.pdf The deadline to submit presentations is Monday, January 31st, 2011.
